The typical stay in foster care is up to one month (longer in certain cases). LRR will cover pre-approved veterinary costs during the foster stay. Before thinking about fostering one of our rescue Labs, please see our foster criteria.

The process for fostering a rescue Lab is simple:

1. Foster application. Start by filling out and submitting our Foster Application.
2. Evaluation. One of our volunteers will be in touch to make sure you have the necessary experience and facilities.
3. Foster placement. When a Lab in your area is surrendered to LRR, you’ll get a call from one of our volunteers to see whether you can foster the Lab. If so, the Lab will be brought to your home.
