What do you want for your birthday?

Nine-year-old Alyse answered, “Donations to Labrador Retriever Rescue."

Alyse and her mom, Janet, planned her 9th birthday party together.

Realizing that she had enough 'stuff,' Alyse decided to ask her friends to donate to a worthy cause instead of buying her birthday presents.

She treated her friends to a swim and to cake at the YMCA.

Alyse and her guests then met with Rosie and Daisy, Lab Rescue volunteers, to present their donations.

Rosie is a chocolate Labrador Retriever, and Daisy is a yellow Lab.

Rosie and Daisy live with John & Gale in MA.

Alyse and her friends learned that the $250.00 they donated will help cover the cost of boarding, fostering, training, and medical care of rescued dogs needing a new permanent and loving home.

Why did Alyse choose Labrador Retriever Rescue?

Three years ago, her family was looking for a dog. In their search, they visited www.LabRescue.com.

Deciding on a puppy, they got their yellow Lab, Chester, from a breeder.  Still, they were impressed with the work of LRR and wanted to help.

Labrador Retriever Rescue sends a big “THANK YOU!” to Alyse and her family. If you would like to follow Alyse's example, contact a LRR volunteer.

Postscript

Sadly, Rosie and Daisy passed away in the spring of 2008. Gale and John have since adopted senior Labs Molly and Rose from Lab Rescue.
