Labs Available for Adoption

Monty

If you look in the dictionary under the wood SWEET, you may well see a picture of Monty.  This 9 year old, tall boy is a big mush of love and affection, and all he wants to do is stick his head into your lab and give and receive affection.  Monty is newly neutered, up to date on shots, and house trained.  He knows basic commands and responds to sign language prompting him to sit, go down, come, and stay.  We believe that a long-term ear infection, which is being treated now, has impacted Monty’s hearing.  As a result, he sticks close to you and is good at watching your commands – this lovable boy simply wants to please.  Monty is crate trained, but he doesn’t seem to like the crate much and in his foster home has not needed it.  Monty gets along with other dogs (he is a little too interested in female dogs and therefore should not be placed with one), but mainly he just wants to be with his people.  He rides well in the car and would be a fantastic companion to someone who likes to have a canine companion for walks, outings, and car trips.  Got room in your heart and your home for the biggest love any of us have met in a long time?  Come meet Monty and fall in love yourself.

Yukon

Hi, I’m Yukon. I’m a big and strong eight year old chocolate lab with no known health issues who is ready to join your family and bring all my happy energy and funny antics to your household! I’m neutered, up to date on shots, house-trained, and able to follow basic commands. I eat well (could stand to lose a few pounds!), enjoy other dogs (the ladies a little too much, so I would do better with a male companion) and do not seem to be a cat-chaser. Mostly, I LOVE my people so I would like to go to a home with someone who is home a lot of the time or who wants to take me with them in the car as long as it isn’t too hot or cold for me. I am crate trained, and while I am settled and calm in the crate while people are out, I am most excited when the people I love come home. Are you looking for a big goofball who brings a smile to your face all the time? Please come meet me – I may be your guy!

Red

Red

Hi, I’m Red. I’m looking for a very special person to take care of me, either for the short term as a foster or ideally forever. I’m 3 years old, house trained, up to date on shots, and a “red” lab (hence, my name!). I weigh about 80 lbs and, even though I love food + love treats, will always be a little on the lean side. I am a really good boy who hasn’t had a great start. I came into Lab Rescue when my first family couldn’t keep me due to divorce, and I found what I hoped would be my right home, but the people turned out not to understand me so well so I am back. You see, I take a while to warm up and accept new people. If you let me make the first move, then you will have a friend for life.

When I came back, it turned out I had a torn CCL and was in a lot of pain! Now I have had CCL surgery and am five weeks into recovery and doing really well! I have seven weeks to go and am anxious to get out of the kennel and start walking and building up my strength again. I am really ready to start over with another family and hope that someone will give me a chance.

I do have some anxiety and behavioral issues as a result of my displacements, so I need a patient and dog savvy person to take care of me. Ideally that person or people will not have young children or other pets and will have time and energy to devote to my physical and emotional recovery. Will it be you? I am a really great boy, and I promise I’ll make  you a very loving companion!
