Harry

This successful adoption illustrates both the advantages of adopting a senior dog into a young family as well as how effectively the LRR placement process works.

A note from proud new parents:

We adopted Harry (then 9 years old) two years ago today and I just wanted you all to know how well he is doing and how much we love him. When we applied to adopt, we requested a young female. A few weeks later we drove home with an old male!!!!

There really are no words to express how much Harry completed us as a family. Harry entered our home with a three-year-old boy and a brand new baby. He needed to learn quickly about our little ones and our routine (or lack thereof some days). He adjusted really well.

Harry and our son (now 5 years) have spent hours playing ball in the backyard and have created some of the best memories racing around the beaches in the summer. Ra-Ra (Harry) was my daughter's first word. She is now two and I can't thank Harry enough for being her first dog. He will never know how much he is teaching her.

Harry has become our dear friend. He is sensitive, loyal, protective, and loving.

Thank you to all of you who rescued and cared for Harry. Most of all, thank you for knowing that this old, young at heart, boy would be our lucky star.
